How can Europe turn its infrastructure ambitions into projects that attract long-term investment? As a Knowledge Partner of Paris Infraweek 2026, Invest Europe will host “Scaling private capital for energy, connectivity and competitiveness” at 10.15 CET on Monday 2 November 2026, exploring what it takes to unlock investment across energy, transport and digital connectivity.
The panel will bring together members Frank Amberg of AltamarCAM, Tim Flower of HarbourVest, Ville Poukka of CapMan and Gabriele Todesca of the European Investment Fund, moderated by Deborah Botwood Smith of Invest Europe.
Drawing on perspectives from investors, fund managers and public finance, the discussion will examine the conditions needed to commit capital: stable regulation, attractive risk-adjusted returns and a stronger pipeline of investable projects. Panellists will explore how permitting, project preparation and long-term revenue visibility affect investment decisions and how European initiatives can help attract additional private capital.
